Highway Safety Investigation Services, Region 11

Improving highway safety for the traveling public is defined as a key emphasis area in New York State's Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Safety objectives defined in the plan include improving safety for pedestrians, improving data analysis tools and capabilities, improving the design and operation of highway intersections, decreasing fatalities resulting from travel lane departures and improving work zone safety. To help meet these objectives, the NYSDOT had a requirement for Traffic Engineering Services as required by the focused on safety-related infrastructure projects.
